I will always have a soft spot for Knott's Scary Farm. As a born and raised Southern Californian it was part of growing up and I even worked the event for several years. However even I will admit that perhaps the Knott's team got a little complacent and allowed other events to over take their former role as leaders in the Halloween game. This year, with their stellar line up of mazes, shows and experiences it seems that once again Knott's is taking chances and they are paying off. HorrorBuzz.com wrote: We are very happy to report that this is also one of the more consistent years in the way of overall quality and execution. For the most part, everything from the mazes and shows to the scare zones were on point, with a few exceptions. Above left is Shadowlands Jon's new maze based on Japanese myths and legends. To the right is Paranormal Inc. last years break out hit with fans. Below is Black Ops Infected, the zombie shooter that Jon spear headed the previous two years in Camp Snoopy. This year the infected have taken over Calico City back stage near Mystery Lodge. Westcoaster.net did a comprehensive semi spoiler free review of opening night. CLICK HERE FOR THEIR REVIEW What you need to know:
I talked to my contacts, read the reviews and now it's time for a game plan for those going without Front of the Line passes. 1. Get there early, I suggest doing the pre-scare meal giving you early access to the mazes. 2. Go straight to Black Op's Infected at Mystery Lodge, in our podcast we discussed that this might get big lines and it looks like we were right, hitting close to 2 hours on opening night. 3. After infected hit up The Red Barn (which is right outside of Black Op's exit) then move on to Shadowlands which is underneath Xcelerator. These high tech mazes are great but they also tend to be slow loaders which create longer lines. 4. Next head to Dead of Winter, and sign up for FEAR VR 5150 if you want to try out the new VR experience. 5. Then you'll want to visit The Gunslingers Grave which is near Silver Bullet Congratulations, You've done all the in park mazes and the rest are located backstage past Ghostrider's exit. Once back there the mazes are so close together I suggest just checking the lines for which one looks the lightest doing them in that order. Hope this helps and I will see you in the FOG!!!
