It would be hard for any event to recover when your guests are put out that badly before even getting in the gate. They really need to invest in some parking structures or make a deal with the cruise lines to use their structures which are near by. Okay, enough with the bummer part let's move on to the fun bits! This was my first visit to a Queen Mary Halloween event since it was called Shipwrecked. I loved the the shipyard set up in the area outside the ship. It felt natural and with the lighting and fog it was a great spooky setting. Big upgrade from back when it was Shipwrecked. The mazes on the boat were fun, and each seemed to focus on one iconic area of the ship, Lullaby's big scene was the first class pool, B340's was walking the catwalk high above the boiler room and Soul Mate's was the ships propeller room. Off the ship they had three more mazes, Dead Rise, which you will get wet, had you wandering through shipping containers outside. Then they had Circus and Intrepid both of which were inside the dome. Intrepid was fun, it split groups down different paths and we ended up going on the 2nd story area, then down to some pipes you had to crawl through. I heard poor reviews of this maze but I found it really fun and the talent was really on fire. Overall the Queen Mary is a great price for what you get. Six mazes, several shows and a fun atmosphere. I think I paid about $20 for my ticket and that's the cost of some single stand alone events. If you can arrive early (I would say strive for 5pm) to avoid the pitfalls of parking, have a nice dinner at the ship and then head inside right at opening you can really get through everything with out front of the line passes. I would have had plenty of time on a sold out night if it weren't for the two shows.
